Professional Interests
Dr. Couch is one of the founding physicians of Family Medical Center at Garland. Under his leadership, Family Medical Center has grown to 21 physicians in three locations (Garland, North Garland and Wylie). In 1994, Family Medical Center at Garland became the first physician group to be acquired by Baylor Health Care System. The resulting organization became known as the Health Texas Provider Network and has grown to more than 400 employed physicians practicing in almost 100 locations around Dallas/Fort Worth. Dr. Couch served as Chairman of the Board of Health Texas, until July 2007, and in addition to that leadership role, he continues to be active in his medical practice as well. He is also Co-Chair of Baylor Healthcare System’s Best Care Committee, which oversees the quality of thirteen hospitals in the System. He is widely recognized for his work in the medical community working with the insurance companies, hospitals, employers and physician groups to reduce hassles and simplify processes of health care delivery. Dr. Couch is a leader in quality initiatives and healthcare innovation, and is past Chief of the Medical Staff at Baylor Hospital at Garland. Dr. Couch completed the Masters of Medical Management degree program with honors at Tulane University, and is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical education honors organization.

Personal Interests
Dr. Couch is a Florida Native. He is happily married to his wife Jo Anna, and they have two children, Kimberly McMillin, M.D. a physician at Family Medical Center at North Garland and Christopher Couch, Ph.D., President of the Japan division of Johnson Controls International (JCI), a large manufacturing company. Dr. and Mrs. Couch have two grandchildren, are quite active with their local church and enjoy traveling, boating, fishing and golf. They frequently teach and speak publicly on the subject of marriage enrichment.
